Instructions for use/Application
Back frame adjustment
Measure the height of the patient's spine such that the
lower edge of the back frame is level with the coccyx
and the upper edge is level with thoracic vertebra T1 Ⓐ .
Loosen the four screws slightly and adjust the frame
height before tightening the screws. ❷ Ⓑ
Without using tools or heat source, adjust the frame to
the curve of the patient's back.
Insert the fitted frame into the back pouch.
Shorten the pouch to the defined frame length by
cutting it with scissors. Ⓒ
Strap adjustment
Ask the patient to tighten the straps until they are flat
against his/ her body, such that they straighten the
back slightly and stabilise the spine.
Shorten the straps used to tighten the back section
using scissors. ❸ Ⓓ
Fit the hooks back onto each strap.
Fitting the device
Open the belt and lay it out completely flat so that you
can see the handles. ❻
Check that the two tightening handles are fully
retracted.
If necessary, unhook them and separate the two back
parts by pulling the ends of the belt, then fasten the
handles again.
Put on the brace in the same manner as a backpack. Ⓔ
Position the belt around the waist, placing your hands
in the finger loops ❺ located on the abdominal panels.
The tightening back pads must be positioned
outwards (i.e. not against the skin).
The lacing section must be centred over the spine: the
pads should be positioned on either side of the spine.
The bottom of the belt must stop at the top of the
crease between the buttocks.
The Thuasne logo indicates which way up the belt
should be put on.
Fasten the belt : right side over left side, without
pulling too tight or applying any particular pressure. Ⓖ
Adjust the tightness using the two handles ❻: pull
them forwards then fold them flat against the front of
the belt, where they attach like a touch fastener.  ⒽⒾ
These two handles can be used to adjust the level of
compression as required throughout the day ❻.
Position the sternum support ❹ and adjust the
tightness; it should be positioned over the sternum,
above the chest, without compressing the thorax  Ⓙ
Adjust strap tension ❸ and place the hooks on the
self-fastening surface.  ⓀⓁ
Avoid placing the hooks against the tightening system
thread as they can cause damage.
