12. Use of the microscope in reflected light
12.1 Turning on the instrument
Turn the main switch ① on the rear of the stand to "II". (Fig. 20)
12.2 Light intensity adjustment
Operate on the light intensity adjustment knob ② to increase /
decrease the illumination voltage. (Fig. 21)
12.3 Use of field diaphragm (FS)

The field and aperture diaphragms on the illuminator for
reflected light are pre-centered before shipment from the
factory and do not require further centering.
1. Move the selector switch ③ on the reflected light illuminator
toward left to position
2. Place the sample on the stage, insert the 10x objective into
the optical path and focus.
3. In normal use, open the aperture until the image circumscribes
the field of view.
12.4 Effects of field diaphragm
The field diaphragm adjusts the illuminated area to obtain an
image with high contrast. Adjust the field diaphragm according
to the lens in use until the iris diaphragm circumscribes the field
of view to eliminate unnecessary light to the eyepieces. (Fig. 23)
