Connecting the blinds (only for powered blinds)
The electrical power supply must be connected by a qualified electrician
who has demonstrated skill and knowledge related to the construction
and operation of electrical equipment and installations and has received
safety training to identify and avoid the hazards involved.
The powered blinds are available for a connection to a 12 Vg, 24 Vg, 110 Vw or
230 Vg power supply. The product label on the motor provides important informa-
tion on the specifications of the motor.
The following notes must be observed when connecting the blinds:
• Ensure cables are not damaged during installation. Routings of cables through
walls or bulkheads must be protected and insulated by appropriate bushing,
grommets or cable conduits.
• Secure all cables to prevent any contact with moving parts.
• Only use power supply units and control elements recommended by the manu-
facturer to prevent damage or faults during operation caused by incompatible
electrical components.
• Control devices (e.g. switches) must be installed in visible locations.
• Ensure that the power supply line is suitably arranged and protected.
Notes on connecting DC motors
• Ensure that a 12 V or 24 V stabilized power supply line is available for the drive at
the point of installation.
• Observe the cross section for cables:
– Motor cable: 0.5 mm
If the power supply unit is installed in a distance of more than 0.5 m, the cross
section must be adjusted to avoid a voltage drop of more than 3 %.
– Switch cable: 0.13 mm
Notes on connecting AC motors
• The device shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations and
any other regulations in force, specific to the location of the installation, e. g.
marine application.
