ENGLISH
All fingers of the anti-kickback lock must
end in a point at their lower end.
All anti-kickback fingers must automati-
cally return to their rest position (down-
wards).
Dust
collection
attachment
cutterblock cover
Dust collection attachment and cutter-
block cover prevent that the rotating cut-
terblock can be touched when thickness
planing.
Information for a safe operation
Danger!
Drawing-in/trapping hazard!
− Never reach with your hands into
the machine when guiding the work-
piece!
− Use a feeding aid (push stick) if you
want to feed short stock into the
thicknesser.
− Guide a workpiece on the outfeed
side if it has been fed so far into the
thicknesser that it can no longer be
safely guided from the infeed side.
− Remove stuck stock only after motor
has come to a complete stop and
the machine is unplugged.
Risk of kickback
Risk of injury by workpiece
kickback (workpiece is caught by the
rotating cutterblock and thrown back
against the operator):
− Do not jam workpieces.
− Operate machine only with a fully
functional anti-kickback lock.
− Always use sharp cutter knives.
− If in doubt check workpiece for inclu-
sion of foreign objects (e.g. nails,
screws, lose knots).
− Always plane the workpiece over its
entire length.
− Do not thickness plane more than
two workpieces at the same time.
Risk of injury by touching the
rotating cutterblock:
− Always cover the cutterlock with the
the dust collection attachment when
the machine is used as thickness
planer.

Operation

1.
Set the planing thickness with the
crank (37).
− The thicknesser bed adjusts in a
range from 4 mm to 180 mm.
− One full turn of the crank adjusts the
thicknesser bed by 2 mm up or
down.

2.
To thickness plane stock which sur-
faces are not parallel, use suitable
feeding aids (make fitting tem-
plates).
3.
Set operating mode selector to
planer/thicknesser mode.
4.
Start motor.
5.
Assume proper operating position:
to feed the workpiece into the
machine, position yourself offset to
one side of the feed opening.
6.
Feed workpiece slowly and straight
into the thicknesser. It will then be
automatically fed through the thick-
nesser.
7.
Guide workpiece straight through
the thicknesser.
To remove the workpiece from the
machine, position yourself offset to
one side of the outfeed opening.
8.
Switch machine off if no further plan-
ing is to be done immediately after-
wards.
Workpiece dimensions
Length: min. 200 mm.
Width: max. 180 mm.
Thickness: min 4 mm;
max. 180 mm.
The max. depth of cut for a single pass
is 2 mm.
Tips and Tricks
Plane stock with the grain, if possi-
ble.
Use roller supports on both sides of
the planer/thicknesser when work-
ing long stock.
When thickness planing it is better
to make several passes with little
chip removal, than making only few
passes with a high depth of cut.
Keep surfaces of planing beds clean
– in particular, remove resin residue
with a suitable cleaning and mainte-
nance spray (optional accessory).
Apply an anti-seize compound to all
planing bed surfaces afterwards.
This makes feeding easier and pro-
vides for a smoother surface finish.

8. Operation as Table Saw

8.1

Setup

Danger!
Before setting the machine up:
− Switch machine OFF.
− Unplug.
− Wait until machine has come to a
complete stop.
Raising the saw blade:
1.
Remove table insert (38).
2.
To raise the saw blade turn lever
(39) counter-clockwise, push down
and tighten again by turning clock-
wise.
3.
Replace the kerf plate. To do so,
slightly bend the table insert apart at
its rear and slide over saw blade
and riving knife. Then fit table insert
flush into the saw table.
Fence installation
The fence can be used as both rip or
crosscut fence.
When used as rip fence:
1.
Slide fence carrier (40) into the
groove (41) of the guide extrusion.
Tighten knob (42).
