17.1 Troubleshooting
Condition LEDs on Battery
Blower does not start 1 LED flashes
when switched on green
1 LED glows red.
3 LEDs flash red.
3 LEDs glow red
4 LEDs flash red
Blower cuts out 3 LEDs glow red
during operation
Blower runtime is too
short

Cause
Battery has low charge
Battery too hot or too cold. ► Remove the battery.
Malfunction in blower.
Blower too hot.
Malfunction in battery.
No electrical contact
between blower and
battery.
Blower or battery damp.
Blower too hot.
There is a electrical
malfunction.
Battery not fully charged
Remedy
► Charge the battery.
► Allow battery to cool down / warm up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts in battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the blower.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Contact your
STIHL servicing dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow blower to cool down.
► Remove the battery and refit it.
► Switch on the blower.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Contact your
STIHL servicing dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts in battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Allow blower or battery to dry.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow blower to cool down.
► Remove the battery and refit it.
► Switch on the blower.
► Fully charge the battery.
