Drivers for components and operating systems
The drivers for components are stored in the "C:\Windows\ConfigSetRoot\Drivers" folder of the restored system or on the
Restore USB stick in the "Drivers" folder.
Installation of software
Use the "A1 image" for the installation of software and an associated functional change of the device (see "Scope of delivery
of the software (Page 16)").
In this way, you avoid unwanted dependencies, for example, license messages from software components that are no longer
used in the "A2 image".
Image files for data backup
Use the SIMATIC IPC Image & Partition Creator V3.6.1 or higher to create image files for data backup.
If you change from older versions to a version V3.6 or higher, please observe the corresponding notes regarding the
compatibility between the software and the created images in the product documentation!
Please make sure that your PC has the newest BIOS version before you use the SIMATIC IPC Image & Partition Creator.
Operation with the SIMATIC Management Agent (for PCS 7 only)
In order to integrate the IPC bundles into the plant managed with the SIMATIC Management Console (SMMC), you can install
or activate the SIMATIC Management Agent (SMA) during the initial commissioning or system restore.
You can choose whether or not to use the SMA in this dialog:
