1. Detach the mounting plate from the sensor by
turning it counterclockwise, then insert the 9V
batteries.
2. Attach the mounting plate to the ceiling with the
provided screws.
3. Press the sensor against the mounting plate and
turn it clockwise.
4. Press and hold the test button for 5 seconds. A
short audible alarm will sound. The red LED on the
front of the device behind the plastic cover should
flash approximately every 30 seconds, indicating
device activity.
 Test the sensor at least once a month.
 Vacuum the sensor every 3 months.
 Do not use cleaning supplies or solvents.
 Do not paint the sensor.
 Do not perform the tests in any way other than as
described in this manual.
 Replace the sensor with a new one after the
service life of 10 years.
Smoke detectors can react to cooking fumes in non-
alarm situations. In the event of a false alarm, the
sensor can be temporarily muted. Just press and hold
the TEST / RESET button for 5 seconds. The red LED
on the device body flashes every 8 seconds to indicate it is in mute mode. The sensor will
automatically return to normal operating mode after 8 minutes. If a hazardous amount of smoke
is detected again, the alarm sound will sound continuously and the red LED behind the plastic
cover will flash every second.
