4. Testing the flashers
– Press button 1 in position L, then set the flasher to the left turn position.
– Release button 1 in order to simulate a flasher failure. Depending on the vehicle, this will be shown in various ways,
e.g. by a fault message in the instrument panel.
– The same applies to the right-hand flasher through pressing and releasing button 1 R.
5. Testing the hazard warning lights
– 4.1 Press button 2 in position L + R, then switch on the hazard warning lights.
– 4.2 Release button 2 in order to simulate a failure of both flashers. Depending on the vehicle, this will be shown in
various ways, e.g. by a fault message in the instrument panel.
Identification is not possible from the flasher frequency.
6. Testing the rear fog light
– Switch on the rear fog light on the vehicle.
– This light must not light up.
– If, nevertheless, it does, press button 2 (54G) to switch it off.
7. Testing the rear lights, brake lights and reversing light
– To test these functions, switch on or activate the respective lights.
– On the completion of the test, switch off the ignition and all the lights.
8. General notes
– To prevent the tester from overheating, do not press and hold down the buttons on the ZWT 20 for more than 15
seconds.
– Scanning the trailer identity may reduce the intensity of some LEDs.
