5.1.1
Opening claws
The chains are foreseen for a maximum inside
diameter (of the gripping goods) of 2.0 m.
The inclination angle must not exceed 40°,
otherwise there is a danger of the load being
released!
If the inside diameter of the manhole exceeds 2.0 m,
it is necessary to use longer chains!
It must be absolutely taken care that the admissible safe working load is not exceeded.
The jaws may only be equally loaded and not pulled to one side or be dragged along the ground.
The claws must always be suspended in the true vertical position.
●
Rotate holdfast application (1) upwards (Fig. 2) and locate in both grooves (2) on the outside jaw (3): Now the jaw is
locked at its maximum opening width (Fig. 3). During the adjustment it must be ensured that the web slings are not
loaded and not twisted.
●
The manholes must be of sufficient construction to withstand the clamping forces during transport.
●
Do not transport wet, smooth, dirty or even icy manholes/cones.
●
There are numerous different models of manholes/cones. Make sure that only elements according to DIN 4034 are
transported!
Only transport sufficiently cemented and fracture-free manholes/cones.
Otherwise there is a danger of the load or parts of the load being released!
5.1.2
Lifting of a manhole
●
Open all the claws.
●
Fit suspension lug in the load hook of the lifting device (e.g.
crane).
It must be ensured that the individual chains are not twisted
and that they can be easily pulled through the jaws.
●
Position claws equally onto the manhole (holdfast application
is situated inside the manhole) so that the chains are equally
loaded. The suspension lug must be positioned above the
centre of gravity!
●
Ensure that the chains are not twisted and that they can be
easily pulled through the jaws.
