Removing the flail screen
Figures 8, 9 and 10
If the discharge area becomes
clogged:
1. Stop the engine. Make certain
the chipper shredder vacuum
has come to a complete stop
and disconnect the spark plug
wire
2. Remove the vacuum bag or
blower chute
3. Remove screw (1) figure 9,
that attaches the unit to the
flail screen.
4. Remove screw and flat
washer (2) as well as the lock
nut (3) as shown in figure 8
and 10.
5. Remove and clean the screen.
Reinstall the screen.

Storing the unit for long
periods
E.g. at the end of the season, or if
the unit is not to be used for
longer than a month:

Clean unit and bag

Lubricate all pivot points

Wipe over all metal surfaces
with an oil-impregnated cloth
(resin-free oil) to protect them
from corrosion, or spray a
fine coat of oil onto them

Store engine as described in
the engine manual

store the unit in a dry room
and make sure it cannot move
around.

Before working on the unit:

Stop the engine

Wait until all movable parts
stop

Remove spark plug wire to
prevent accidental starting
Problems that arise with the
operation of the unit often result
from simple causes , which you
should be aware of and partly be
able to resolve yourself. If there is
any doubt, your dealer will be
pleased to provide further
assistance.
