5.1 Proportional metering with contact water meter
Application description
n Anti-corrosion agents must be metered in proportion to volume using a pipe with a
nominal width of G3/4".
n To enable this, a ¾" contact water meter with a pulse interval of 1 litre per pulse was
selected and installed.
n Based on the pulses from the contact water pump, a metering pump is intended to
dose a defined quantity of anti-corrosion agent in proportion to the fresh water flow.
n The product data sheet from the chemical manufacturer specifies a concentration of
0.1%.
n Regular water samples are used to check and document compliance with the required
concentration.

Installation

n Install the water meter in horizontal piping.
Note the direction of flow. Fit the threaded union without injector bore upstream of
and the threaded union with injector bore downstream of the water meter.
n Mount the metering pump on the wall using the supplied mounting plate.
n Fit the metering valve in the injector bore in the water meter connection.
(Valve should be installed vertically facing upwards)
n First the suction lance in the product canister using the adapter screw cap.
n Connect the suction tube from the suction lance to the suction connection on the
metering pump.
n Connect the connector cable for level monitoring to the pump.
n Connect the dosing tube from the pump to the metering valve.
Connect the connection cable from the water meter to the pump.
