• Now, the tester checks every couple of leads automatically.
• If a pair of leads is okay, the corresponding LED lights up
green. If the LED lights up red, changes its colour from red to
green or doesn't light up, then the corresponding pair is
defective. In this case, the leads are broken, bypassed, or
switched with other leads.
The following pairs of leads must be displayed:
10 Base-T:
Token Ring:
AT&T256A:
EIA/TIA568:
If more LEDs are shining than listed above, then the cable is
okay anyway.
• In order to test the shielding, press the button "GND". If the
LED "GND" lights up green, then the shielding is okay. If the
LED lights up red, changes its colour from red to green or
doesn't light up, then the shielding is defective.
Please note: If the button "GND" is pressed, then you can
only check the shielding. In order to check the other leads,
the button must not be pressed.
Caution!
Only press the "GND" button when you intend to test the shielding.
Otherwise erroneous measuring results will be achieved.
