Protection against short circuits: The battery shuts off automatically
should a short circuit occur - this could be either an internal short
circuit of the battery pack or a short circuit in the connected power
cables or electric motor. In the case of a short circuit, the battery will
go into shutdown mode with 5 LEDs blinking.
Shutdown Protections while being charged:
•
Overvoltage protection: The battery switches off automatically if too
high a charging voltage is applied, indicated by the 5 LEDs blinking.
(Under normal charging conditions using Bronson Outdoor chargers
this should never occur.)
•
Over Charge Protection: The battery shuts off automatically when
fully charged. (note that Bronson Outdoor chargers are designed to
optimally charge your battery and stop charging when the battery
is fully charged - however in the case of a charger malfunction your
battery will still be able to protect itself from the potentially dange-
rous situation of over charging. All 5 LEDs shine constantly when
the battery is fully charged).
•
Critical Temperature Threshold Shutdown: The battery is designed
to be charged within a range from 0 ºC to 45 ºC. This will ensure
optimal charging and maximum cell life. If the temperature is outside
of this range - the battery will shut off and reject charging to prevent
damage to the cells.
