Prevention and dissipation of electrostatic charge
All Watson- Marlow ATEX rated pumpheads include provision for the prevention and dissipation of
electrostatic charge. In order to dissipate electrostatic charge effectively there must be sufficient electrical
contact between the pumphead and the suitably earthed drive.
It is imperative that the 701 ATEX series pumpheads are earthed by connecting the earth terminal on the
track to earth.
•
Fit earth lead from pumphead to suitable earthing point , using M4 ring terminal provided.
•
Ensure that all conductors and dissipative materials are earthed.
•
Test effectiveness of the earth-bonding between the track and drive or support plate.
Check the effectiveness of any earth connection by measuring its electrical resistance. The resistance must
not exceed 1 MΩ.
