Installation

Electrical connection

For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the following in-
structions have to be observed for the electrical connection:
■ The device is supplied with a 12 Volt DC voltage via the mains
adapter supplied. Always use the mains adapter supplied to con-
nect the device to the mains supply.
■ Before connecting the device, compare the connection data (volt-
age and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains
adapter. These data must correspond in order to avoid damage to
the device.
■ Protect the adapter cable from hot surfaces and sharp edges.
■ Make sure that the adapter cable is not too taut or kinked.
■ Do not allow the adapter cable to hang over edges (trip wire ef-
fect).
■ If the device is not to be used for a longer period of time, discon-
nect the mains adapter from the mains supply.

Connecting the mains adapter

‹ Connect the plug of the mains adapter to the 12 VDC jack
the device.
‹ Insert the mains adapter into the mains socket.

Checking the installation

■ The Power LED should come on.
■ A LAN LED should come on for each LAN (PC) connection (pro-
vided the PC is switched on).
■ The WLAN LED should come on when WLAN clients are con-
nected.
■ The WAN LED should come on when the modem is switched on.
