Note: The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure
the maximum performance of the battery, use the power ad-
aptor to fully charge the battery before first use.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without
reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging process
does not damage the battery.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharge
by the "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)". When the battery
is discharged, the power tool is switched off by means of a
protective circuit: The application tool stops moving.
Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the
u
power tool has automatically switched off. The battery
can be damaged.
– Open the flap (9).
– Connect the USB port (8) to the power supply (17).
– Plug the power supply (17) into the plug socket.
The charging process will begin. The battery charge
indicator (7) indicates the charging progress.
During the charging process, the power tool is deactivated
and cannot be used.
If you are not planning to use the power tool again soon, dis-
connect the power adaptor (17) from the mains.
Battery charge indicator
The battery charge indicator (7) indicates the state of
charge for a few seconds when the on/off switch (5) is half
or fully pressed.
After charging, the battery charge indicator (7) goes out a
few minutes after the battery has been fully charged.

Note: If the battery charge indicator is flashing white, the
temperature is outside the permitted temperature range.
Once the permitted temperature range has been reached
again, the charging process automatically resumes or the
power tool can be used once again.
Selecting Tools
An application tool with hexagonal shank with groove or SDS
quick shank is required for drilling and hammer drilling.
For screwdriving, only use screwdriver bits that have a
hexagonal shank with groove (14). Other short screwdriver
bits (16) can be inserted using a universal bit holder with
hexagonal shank with groove (15).
You will find a selection of suitable application tools in the
accessories overview at the end of these operating instruc-
tions.
Bosch Power Tools
Changing the Tool
As a requirement of the system, the application tool can
move freely. This causes a certain radial run-out at no-load,
which has no effect on the accuracy of the drill hole, as the
drill bit centres itself upon drilling.
The dust protection cap (2) largely prevents the penetration
of drilling dust into the tool holder during operation. When
inserting the tool, make sure that the dust protection cap (2)
does not become damaged.
Replace a damaged dust protection cap immediately.
u
It is recommended that you have use an after-sales
service for this.
Inserting the application tool (see figure B)
– Clean the shank of the application tool.
– Using a gradual turning motion, push the application tool
into the tool holder until it locks itself in place.
– Check it is locked by pulling the tool.
Removing the application tool (see figure C)
– Push the locking sleeve (3) back and remove the applica-
LED when charging
tion tool.

nogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment ad-
ditives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the ma-
terials to be worked.
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can

easily ignite.
Operation
Start-up
Ensure that the flap of the USB Type-C® port (9) is closed
u
during operation. This will prevent dust from getting in.

The tool holder can also accommodate dif-
ferent application tools with a hexagonal
shank with groove and SDS quick shank.
The tool holder allows for simple and con-
venient tool-free changing of the application
tool.
