c) Starting the Measurement
The temperature sensor included in delivery is suitable for a temperature range of
-50 to +250 ºC. To utilise the full measurement range of the data logger, you will
need a temperature sensor with a more extensive measurement range (available
separately).
Make sure only to use the temperature sensors specified to this effect for your meas-
urements (in this case: K type). Before connecting lines, check plugs or sensor tips
("beads") for good condition and for flawless insulation (free of damage).
Make sure that only the temperature sensors are exposed to the temperatures to
be measured. Make sure to observe the safety provisions and the technical data as
regards the service temperature. The max. input quantities must never be exceeded.
Never try to press mixed-up connectors (+ and -) forcefully into the bushes. This would
destroy the bushes beyond repair, and they would have to be replaced.
Do not connect voltages! This might destroy the device.
Hold the temperature sensor line end to/in the de-energized measuring fluid (heat
sink, etc., but not in caustic or inflammable fluids!).
1. First you must program the data logger (see section "Programming the data logger").
2. If you have selected the "Manual" function, hold down the Data Logger button for two sec-
onds to start the measurement.
3. If you have selected the "Automatic" function, the data logger starts the measurement au-
tomatically after you have completed programming the data logger. If you have set a time
delay, measurement will commence after the preset time period.
4. During the measurement, the green LED flashes at the frequency set in the "LED Flash
Cycle Setup".
5. To stop the measurement manually, hold down the Data Logger button for two seconds.
6. Once the memory of the data logger is full, the measurement is terminated automatically.
7. The recording can also be terminated at any time by displaying the readout on the computer
before the recording is complete (see section "Displaying data logger readout").
