DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
EN
AND INSTALLATION
1. APPLICATION
The heat pump is designed exclusively for pool water heating and for economica-
lly maintaining its temperature at the required value. Any other use is considered
inappropriate.
The heat pump achieves the highest efficiency at air temperatures of 15 ÷ 25 °C. At
temperatures below +7 °C the device has low efficiency and at temperatures above
+35 °C the device may be overheated. We therefore recommend not to use the
device outside the ambient temperature range of 7 ÷ 35 °C.
2. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The heat pump uses a cycle of compression and expansion of the heat transfer fluid
to obtain heat from the air around the pool. The hot air is driven by a fan through
an evaporator, in which it transfers its heat to the heat transfer fluid (while the air
cools down). The heat transfer fluid is then transported by a compressor, which
compresses and heats it, into the coils of the exchanger, transferring its heat to
the pool water. From the exchanger, the cooled fluid flows to the expansion valve,
where its pressure is reduced and it cools down rapidly. Thus-cooled liquid flows
again into the evaporator, where it is heated by flowing air. The whole process runs
smoothly monitored by pressure and temperature sensors.
The pipes connecting the heat pump and the pool should not be longer than 10 m
and should be provided with suitable thermal insulation to retain heat. Longer and
/ or non-thermally insulated pipes have a negative effect on the heating efficiency.

3. HANDLING WITH HEAT PUMP
Do not lift the heat pump using the heat exchanger fitting. This may be damaged.
The heat pump must be transported and stored in the operating position (moun-
ting feet down). In case of doubts, wait for the heat pump to start for min. 24 hours
after installation to prevent damage to the compressor. If the heat pump is handled
correctly (with the feet down), it can be started immediately..
