Adjustment of the tailstock (Fig. 1)
1
Release the clamping lever of the tail stock (12)
and the wing nut (13) to adjust the distance be-
tween the tailstock (9) and the headstock drive
centre (3).
2
To adjust the clamping pressure use the hand-
wheel (10) and secure it with the counternut (8).
Adjustment of the Tool support (Fig. 1)
1
The height of the tool support (4) can be adjusted
by slackening the locking screw (5).
2
To adjust the length of the tool support (4) re-
lease the clamping lever for tool support (14) and
the wing nut (13). The tool support (4) has to be
moved as close as possible to the workpiece
without coming in contact with it.
3
Tighten the clamping lever for tool support (14)
and the wing nut (13) again.
Warning! Make sure that the tool support (4) is tight-
ened securely and cannot turn in towards the work-
piece.
Speed adjustment (Fig. 4/5/6)
Warning! Disconnect the machine from the mains
outlet before carrying out any kind of mainte-
nance or adjustments.
The spindle speed is controlled by adjusting the posi-
tion of the drive belt (B) on the pulley drive system in
the motor unit.
1
Unscrew the retaining screw (13) using a M14 hex
socket (not included) and open the motor access
door panel (A).
2
Loosen the four motor bolts (D) securing the mo-
tor using a M14 hex socket (not included).
3
Lift the motor pulley (E) upwards to loosen the
drive belt tension.
4
Select the speed appropriate to the workpiece
and job by consulting the recommended spindle
speed.
5
Move the drive belt to the proper grooves on the
drive pulley (B) and motor pulley (E) according to
the desired speed. Do not twist the drive belt (C).
6
After adjusting the drive belt position ,the drive
belt (B) must be retightened. Push the motor
pulley (E) downwards and retighten the motor
bolts (E) using a M14 hex socket (not included).
The drive belt (C) is correctly tightened when it
'gives' approximately 1cm when pressed.
7
Close the motor access door panel (A) and se-
cure it with the retaining screw (13).
Important: The motor access door panel (A) is
equipped with an open door safety switch. If the mo-
tor access door panel (A) is open, the machine will
not operate.

Securing workpiece on the headstock drive cen-
tre (Fig. 1)
1
Locate the centre of the workpiece by accurately
drawing diagonal lines on each end. The inter-
section point of these two lines will indicate the
center of the workpiece.
2
On one end of the workpiece make an approxi-
mately 2mm deep saw cut along the diagonal
lines toreceive the headstock drive centre (3).
3
Use a wood mallet (not supplied) to drive the
headstock drive centre (3) into the point where the
diagonal cuts across the end of the workpiece.
Take care to protect the threaded end of the
headstock drive centre (3) so that no object dam-
ages the thread.
4
Cut the corners off the workpiece if the diameter
of the ends is greater than 5 cm x 5 cm to make
turning easier and safer.
5
Measure the combined total length of the work-
piece with the headstock drive centre (3) and
centering pin (7) on each end. Loosen the wing
nut (13) and clamping lever for tailstock (12) un-
derneath the tailstock (9) and set the distance be-
tween the headstock drive centre (3) and center-
ing pin (7)allowing a slightly wider distance than
the measured combined total length of the work-
piece. Secure the tailstock (9) by retightening
the wing nut (13) and clamping lever for tailstock
(12).
6
Tightly screw the headstock drive centre (3) with
workpiece onto the centering pin (7) by the hand
wheel (10).
7
Once positioned fasten the counternut (8) against
the tail stock (9).
8
Adjust the tool support (4) approximately 3 mm
away from the workpiece.
Caution: Before starting the machine test the setup
by rotating the workpiece by hand to ensure that
there is enough clearance all the way around and
that it does not come into contact with the tool sup-
port (4).
Installing the faceplate: (Fig. 7/8)
To use the faceplate:
The faceplate (17) offers solid and secure support
for a variety of turned objects such as platters, bowls,
pots and round pieces.
Installing the faceplate:
1
Loosen the headstock drive centre (17) and re-
move it from the headstock spindle by using the
wrench (20) and the wrench (21).
2
Thread the faceplate (17) onto the headstock
spindle and tighten by hand and the wrench (21).
