3. Camera Connection
This document is for easy installation purpose only; please refer
to the user manual for more details.
I. Basic Connection (Without PoE)
1) Connect the CCTV camera to the video input connector of the video
Server using a BNC Connector.
2) Connect the supplied power cable to the video server and plug it into a
power outlet.
3) Connect the video server to a switch using an Ethernet cable. The
Ethernet cable should meet the specs of UTP Category 5 and not
exceed 100 meters in length.
4) To attach external devices, such as sensors and alarms, connect them
to the extension I/O terminal block.
II. Power over Ethernet (PoE) Connection
The VS-01A is PoE compliant, so there are two options for connecting the
video server and CCTV camera to a power and Ethernet source. The
video server can either be connected to a PoE-enabled switch or a non-PoE
switch.
