Thank you for purchasing this high-quality product made by ADE. You have acquired a
set of scales that meet the highest technical standards and are of proven quality.
Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the product for the first
time and keep them in a safe place where you can find them whenever you need the
information contained in the instructions.
1. Putting into Service
Inserting the batteries:
Open the lid of the battery compartment on the bottom of the scales and insert the three
supplied 1.5 V AAA batteries. Please observe the correct polarity of the batteries (+/-).
Safety information:
Ensure that no objects fall onto the scales; otherwise, the scales
may be damaged.
Only use a damp cloth to clean the scales. Never use solvents
or abrasive cleaners. Do not put the scales under water. You
must clean all the plastic parts of the scales immediately after
they come into contact with grease, spices, vinegar or any other
strongly spiced or coloured foods. Avoid any contact with citric
acid.
2. Operation
Switch ing on the scales:
Place the scales on a firm, level base. The scales are equipped with highly sensitive
touch buttons. To switch-on the scales touch the
stabilised, they display "0 g" / "0.0 oz" / "0 ml" or "0.0 fl.oz", depending on the setting.
The scales are now ready to weigh.
Note: Display the scales a value after power-on, touch the
scales back to "0 g".
Units of weight:
Turning the knob (in weighing mode) allows you to change country-specific units of
weight (g = grams / oz = ounces / ml = millilitres / fl.oz = fluid ounces). Please ensure
that the scales are set to the appropriate units of weight for you.
Tare func tion:
Touching the
/Tare-button allows you to set the scales to "0 g". Place a bowl, for
example, on the platform of the scales, touch the
/Tare-button. After the scales have
/Tare-button to set the
/Tare-button and in this way set the

scales back to "0 g" (is the weight to be tared heavier than 600 g appears bottom left of
the display the TARE-icon). You can repeat this procedure as often as you like until the
total capacity of the scales (5 kg) has been reached. After you remove the item(s) to be
weighed, the total weight is displayed as a minus value.
Automatic- / manua l switch-off the scale:
If the indicated weight does not change within approx. 10 seconds, the backlight of the
scale switches-off automatically. If the indicated weight does not change within approx.
50 seconds, the scales will automatically switch-off. You can switch-off the scales
manually after you have finished using them by touching the
approximately two seconds.
3. Timer
Set-up timer:
Push the knob to switch-on the scales and to enter the timer mode. The display indicates
"Timer 00:00". When you used the timer-function once before the previous time-input
appears. Pushing the knob for approx. 2 seconds allows you to set the time indicating
back to "00:00". Now you can turn the knob to set the desired time. By turning up
(clockwise) the seconds; by turning down (counter clockwise) the minutes. After entering
the desired time, push again the knob to confirm the input. The timer runs and after expiry
of time a loud peep-tone sounds for about 60 seconds. Stop the beep by touching the
/Tare-button or push the knob. During expiration, the timer-function can anytime be
stopped and/or required to operate by pushing the knob.
Note: If, within about 10 seconds before the start of the timer, no further action takes
place, the backlight of the scales switches-off automatically and after approx. 20 seconds,
the scales will automatically switch-off.
Switch between timer- an d weighing mode:
If the scales are in weighing mode, push the knob to enter the timer mode. The weighing
function is closed.
If the scales are in timer mode, touch the
the timer was previously activated, the timer function runs unto the expiry of time,
except the function has been stopped by touching the
seconds and the scales is thereby off.
4. Error Messages
"Lo"
=
Indication that the battery is flat – Please replace the batteries with
three 1.5 V type AAA.
"EEEE"
=
Overload display – The 5 kg maximum capacity of the scales has been
exceeded. Immediately remove the load from the scales; otherwise, the
load cell could be damaged.
