PROMIX500 -- Professional Stereo Mixing Panel
1. Introduction and Features
Thank you for buying the PROMIX500! This state-of-the-art mixer comes with a one-year warranty. Please read the
manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. Make sure that the device was not damaged in transit. If the
device is damaged, you should contact your dealer and postpone installation of this device.
The PROMIX500 is a seven-channel mixer that can be installed in a rack or placed on a table. Developed for
professional mixing applications, it features 7 LINE (CD) inputs, 2 stereo phono inputs and 5 microphone inputs.
Each music channel is equipped with gain control. Channels 1-3 have tone control for bass and treble plus balance
control, whereas channels 4-7 have an additional tone control for the mid frequencies but no balance control.
The output section features a master/cue selector which enables the user to either listen to the master output or to
one channel in particular. The device is also equipped with two independent master controls.
2. Safety Instructions
1) The device should be OFF while the connections are being established. Do not use excessively long cables and
make sure the connections are executed correctly. Loose connections cause a hum or noise that is potentially
damaging to your speaker.
2) Do not clean the slide controls with sprays as their residue may cause dirt to build up on the housing. The use of
sprays immediately voids the warranty. Consult a qualified technician if the slide controls do not work properly. In
general, problems with the slide controls are due to an excessively dusty or dirty environment.
3) Do not attempt to make adjustments or execute repairs other than those described in this manual.
Remember to consult a qualified technician if necessary.
4) You should always use shielded audio cables with low capacitance.
5) Take care to connect only one cable at a time. Mind the labelled audio input and output jacks.
6) Always set all volume controls on mixing panels and amplifiers to zero before activating them. Wait 8 to 10 seconds
to increase the volume.
7) Be gentle with the controls as rapid movements may damage the speakers due to amplifier clipping.
8) Do not expose this device to water or moisture in order to prevent fire risks and electroshocks. Do not place
beverages on top of the device.
3. Installation and Operation
Consult the figure on page 11. Connect all the stereo input sources first, and then connect the microphones and the
headphones. Make sure all faders are placed in their minimum positions ("0"). Connect the stereo outputs to the power
amplifier and/or tape decks.
Plug the device into an AC power source.
Note: Use shielded low-capacitance stereo cables for the RCA connections. The quality of the cables is essential for
high-quality sound reproduction.
