OPERATING THE MACHINE
1
Follow the instructions in the Preparing the Machine for Use and the Pre-Operational Checklist sections of this manual.
2
Turn the Master Key Switch (30) ON and release the Parking Brake (34). Apply even pressure to the front of the Drive Pedal (31) to move forward or the
back of the Drive Pedal to move backward. Drive to the area to be cleaned.
3
Move the Broom Lever (23) to the SWEEP position (middle notch). The broom motor will automatically start. The FULL FLOAT position (top notch) should
only be used on very irregular, or uneven floors. Use at other times will give poor sweeping performance and increase broom wear.
4
Move the Squeegee Switch (24) to the ON position to lower the squeegee.
5
Move the Solution On-Off Lever (22) to the ON position and also push the Solution On-Off switch (25) to the ON position. Do not use this lever to control
the amount of solution dispensed. To control the amount of solution dispensed, adjust the Solution Flow Control Valves (9) at the front of the machine
(see the Preparing the Machine for Use section of this manual).
6
Move the Scrub Brushes Switch (26) to the DOWN position. The brush drive assembly will lower to the floor (the scrub brush motor will not turn ON until
the drive pedal is depressed).
7
Begin scrubbing with slow, even forward pedal pressure. Check over your shoulder to see that all of the water is being picked up. If not, squeegee
adjustments may be required or the recovery tank may be full.
Turns may be made with all functions operating, however you may want to shut the Solution Lever OFF before turning to prevent an accumulation of water
on the floor. Make sharp turns slowly for maximum water pick-up.
Scrubbing results will generally be best at low speeds that allow the chemicals and brushes longer to work. For very dirty floors, a one-pass operation
may not be satisfactory, and a "double-scrub" technique may be required. Double-scrubbing is the same as normal operation, except that the squeegee
is not lowered to the floor on the first pass. The chemical and water are left on the floor to work longer, and then a second full operation pass is made
over the same area to pick up the accumulation. Do not try to "double-scrub" too large of an area, as the cleaning material may dry on the floor and defeat
the purpose of the operation.
8
When the recovery tank fills, a float will automatically shut off the vacuum suction. Raise the scrub brushes immediately! This will automatically shut off
the solution flow. Raise the squeegee and broom. Move the machine to a designated waste water "DISPOSAL SITE" where the recovery tank can be
drained and cleaned. Refill the solution tank and continue cleaning.
Additional Operator Control Function Notes:
Squeegee System: The water pickup squeegee will raise automatically when the machine is driven in Reverse and lower when driven Forward. To activate
the automatic squeegee raise/lower function when scrubbing the Squeegee Switch (24) must be turned On (placed in the lowered position).
Scrub System: The rotation of the scrub brushes will stop any time the drive pedal is in the Neutral position. This only will happen when the brushes
are down on the floor. This feature will eliminate scarring the floor surface when the machine is stopped.
Solution System: The Solution Solenoid On-Off Switch (25) when ON, works in conjunction with the drive pedal. The solution will flow to the scrub brushes
any time the drive pedal is depressed (FWD or REV). When the pedal is in the neutral position the flow is Shut Off. If the Solution Solenoid On-Off Switch
(25) is turned OFF, no flow will occur regardless of the drive pedal position. This feature helps conserve solution usage.
Sweeping System: The sweeping broom's function is to pickup small debris that if not removed from the floor surface, collects under the squeegee blades,
thus reducing the water pick up and causes streaking. The side skirts function is to channel the waste water to the rear squeegee to help contain it with-
in the machine's cleaning path.
NOTE: The scrub brush system will turn OFF, raise automatically and cease to function after the batteries reach an 80% depth of discharge. Normal function
will return to the scrub brush system when the batteries are re-charged.
