Mounting and Connection Instructions Viewguard DUAL / AM FAI
7.
Mounting
7.1
Housing
-
Open housing
1
If necessary, break the seal with a
small screwdriver or similar object
and pull downward.
2
Press the notch (at the bottom in the
5
middle, see Fig. 1-
) slightly inward.
3
Press off the front of the housing.
4
Lift off the housing front.
-
Close housing
in reverse order. Ensure that the housing
is closed correctly and locked into
position.
Do not insert the seal to lock the housing
until installation is completed.
7.2
Planning guidelines
When determining the place and type of installation as
well as the mounting height, chapter 6. "Detection co-
verage" must be observed in any case!
7.2.1 Environmental conditions
Under extreme (weather) conditions, such as a long and persistent
heat wave, the PIR function may be impaired for physical reasons.
If
extreme conditions
are to be expected, we recommend the installa-
tion of
additional detectors
with overlapping detection coverage.
7.2.2 Mounting site
* Maximum sensitivity is achieved when mounted crosswise to the
horizontal detection zones of the PIR sensors. Therefore, select a
mounting site that runs crosswise to the expected direction of moti-
on (see Fig. 2).
* Motion detectors shall be positioned towards the room to be moni-
tored with an unobstructed line of vision.
* The area 30 cm in front of and 30 cm under the detector must be
clear.
*
Minimum distance to the ceiling:
min. 2 cm
2.20 - 4.00 m
Avoid in general:
*
Installation near possible
air turbulence
- Mounting near air discharge openings (e.g. air conditioningsystems)
- Rotating machine parts
- Fans
*
Installation near
infrared heat sources
- Mounting above radiators
- Direct sunlight
- Windows
- Mounting near to fluorescent lamps/bulbs
- Hot air blower
*
Metallic objects in close proximity to the DUAL detector.

Mounting possibilities
7.3.1 Mounting directly on the wall
-
0° Vertical at a 0° downward angle (Fig. 9/1)
-
3° Vertical at a 3° downward angle (Fig. 9/2)
-
45° Horizontal at a 45° angle to the left or right (Fig. 9/3)
-

7.3.2 Mounting on Adjustable joint
(Item no. 033390.17, see 11. "Accessories")
Should the mounting possibilities in accordance with Fig. 9 not suffi-
ce, the detector can be mounted on the "Adjustable joint".
Swivel range: ±20° horizontal, +4° to -8° vertical.
Note:
Depending on the setting the Detection coverage changes
(Details see Chapter 6. "Detection coverage").
The adjustable joint is not provided with a backtamper.
For the installation in VdS systems of class B and C, a solid
basis with the defined inclination is required on site to ensure
proper functioning of the backtamper.
Mounting possibilities:
-
Mounting directly on the wall (Fig. 10/1)
-
Horizontal at a 45° angle to the left or right (Fig. 10/2)
-
Corner mounting (Fig. 10/3)

7.3.3 Mounting on Ball-and-socket set
(Item no. 033588.17, see 11. "Accessories")
The Ball-and-socket set provides the most versatile adjustment
possibilities.
Swivel range: ±45° horizontal, ±20° vertical.
Mounting on Ball-and-socket set not as per VdS and EN.
