ISTRUZIONI IMPORTANTI PER LA SICUREZZA
• Il termometro serve esclusivamente per la misurazione della
temperatura corporea!
• Il termometro termina correttamente la misurazione della temperatura
corporea solo quando il segnale acustico «beep»!
• Il termometro contiene piccoli componenti (batterie, ecc.) che possono
essere ingeriti da bambini. Non lasciare mai il termometro alla portata
dei bambini!
• Non piegare la sonda a più di 45°!
• Proteggere il termometro da urti e cadute!
• Evitare le temperature ambientali superiori ai 60°C: non bollire MAI il
termometro!
• Usare solo i disinfettanti elencati nella sezione «pulizia e disinfezione»
per detergere il termometro. Il termometro deve essere integro per poter
essere immerso nel liquido disinfettante.
• Il produttore raccomanda di far verificare l'accuratezza del termometro
da un laboratorio autorizzato ogni 2 anni.
Le batterie e gli strumenti elettrici devono essere smaltiti in con-
formità alle normative locali: non smaltire come rifiuto domestico.
Leggere attentamente le istruzioni prima di utilizzare questo ter-
mometro.
ACCENSIONE DEL TERMOMETRO
Per accendere il termometro premere il tasto ON/OFF; un breve segnale
acustico indica che il termometro è acceso. Viene automaticamente eseguito
un test del display. Tutti i segmenti vengono visualizzati. Quando la temper-
atura ambiente è minore di 32°C comparirà sul display una «L» (Low - tem-
peratura troppo bassa per essere rilevata) e in alto a destra una «C» lampeg-
giante. Il termometro è ora pronto all'uso.
ISTRUZIONI PER L'USO
Scegliere il tipo di misurazione che si intende utilizzare. Durante la mis-
urazione, la temperatura viene visualizzata sul display in modo continuo e
il simbolo «C» lampeggia. Quando l'incremento della temperatura è inferi-
ore a 0,1 C° ogni 16 secondi il segnalatore acustico (beep-beep-beep per 10
volte) avviserà che la misurazione della temperatura è terminata, il simbolo
«C» cesserà di lampeggiare ed il termometro sarà pronto per la lettura della
temperatura corporea. Per prolungare la durata della batteria, spegnere il
termometro dopo l'uso premendo brevemente il tasto ON/OFF. In caso con-
trario il termometro, si spegnerà automaticamente dopo circa 9 minuti.
REGISTRAZIONE DEI VALORI MISURATI
Se si tiene premuto il tasto ON/OFF per più di tre secondi quando si
accende il termometro comparirà automaticamente sul display la temperatura
registrata durante l'ultima misurazione. Una piccola «M» indicherà che la let-
tura è quella di un dato memorizzato. Circa 3 secondi dopo il rilascio del pul-
sante, questo valore scomparirà ed il termometro sarà pronto per la misurazione.
Successivamente il valore memorizzato sarà cancellato.
TIPI DI MISURAZIONE
Orale
Introdurre il termometro in una delle due sacche, a sinistra o a destra, accanto alla
radice della lingua. Il sensore del termometro deve essere bene in contatto con il
tessuto. Chiudere la bocca e respirare solo dal naso per non alterare la mis-
urazione. Tempo di misurazione approssimativo: 1 minuto!
Rettale
È il metodo più sicuro e particolarmente indicato per lattanti e bambini.
Introdurre con precauzione la sonda del termometro nell'ano sino a un mas-
simo di 2-3cm. Tempo di misurazione approssimativo: 1 minuto!
Ascellare
Per un risultato più affidabile effettuare la misurazione della temperature
corporea, orale o rettale. Raccomandiamo di mantenere il termometro sotto
l'ascella per almeno 3-5 minuti anche dopo avere sentito il segnale acustico
(beep) di fine misurazione. Tempo approssimativo (al beep): 1 minuto
PULIZIA E DISINFEZIONE
Nome: Alcool Isopropilico 70%; immergere per non più di 24 ore.
SOSTITUZIONE BATTERIE
Quando il simbolo "M" compare in basso a destra del display, la batteria è
esaurita e deve essere sostituita. Aprire il coperchio del vano batteria e
inserire la nuova batteria con la polarità "+" rivolta verso l'alto. Assicurarsi
che la nuova batteria sia dello stesso tipo. La batteria può essere acquista-
ta in qualsiasi negozio di materiale elettrico. Per lo smaltimento della bat-
teria fare riferimento alle «Istruzioni importanti per la sicurezza».

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the
body temperature!
• The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone [beep] must
be maintained without exception!
• The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swal-
lowed by children. Therefore never leave the thermometer unattended
to children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!
• Avoid bending the tip more than 45°!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60 °C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
• Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in the section «cleaning
and disinfecting» to clean the thermometer. The thermometer must be
intact when immersed in liquid disinfectant.
• The manufacturer recommends to verify the accuracy by an authorised
laboratory every 2 years.
Batteries and electronic instruments must be disposed of in accor-
dance with the locally applicable regulations, not with domestic
waste.
Read the instructions carefully before using this device.
TURNING ON THE THERMOMETER
To turn on the thermometer, push the button over the display window; a
short signalling tone [beep] signals «thermometer ON.» A display test is
performed. All segments should be displayed. Then at an ambient tempe -
rature of less than 32 °C, an «L» and a flashing «°C» appear at the upper
right of the display. The thermometer is now ready for use.
USING THE THERMOMETER
Choose the preferred measuring method. During a measurement, the current
temperature is displayed continuously. The «°C» symbol flashes during this
period of time. If the signalling tone sounds (beep-beep-beep 10 times) and
the «°C» is no longer flashing, this means that the measured increase in tem-
perature is now less than 0.1 °C in 16 sec. and that the thermometer is ready
for reading. To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by press ing
the operating button briefly. Otherwise the thermo meter will automatically
turn off after about 10 minutes.
STORAGE OF MEASURED VALUES
If you hold the button down for more than 3 seconds when turning the
thermometer on, the maximum temperature stored automatically at the
last measurement will be displayed. At the same time, a small «M» for
memory will appear at the right of the display. After 3 more seconds, this
value will disappear and the thermometer will switch to the normal meas-
urement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
MEASURING METHODS
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the
left or right of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good
contact with the tissue. Close your mouth and breathe evenly through the
nose to prevent the measurement from being influenced by inhaled/exhaled
air. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute.
In the anus (rectal)
This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appropriate for
infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2-3 cm
into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!
In the armpit (axillary)
To receive more reliable results we recommend to measure temperature
orally or rectally.
A minimum measurement time of 3 – 5 minutes is recommended regard-
less of the beep sound.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
Name: Isopropyl alcohol 70 %; immerse: max. 24 hours.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the «M» symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the lower right of
the display, the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. For the battery re -
placement please remove the compartment lid of the thermometer. Replace
the exhausted battery by positioning the + at the top. Make sure a battery
of the same type is on hand. Batteries can be purchased at any electrical
goods shops. For battery disposal please refer to «safety instructions».
