AJ-UDC150AP HD/SD Format Converter Board
When installed in the video cassette recorder, the AJ-UDC150AP board serves to convert the HD and SD output formats. The menu opera-
tions performed on the VTR are enabled by installing the board.
For details on the menus, refer to the VIDEO menu in the SYSTEM menu and USER menu described in the operating instructions.
Installation

First, turn off the power of the VTR. Then remove
its top panel and the board clamp.

Install the format converter board into F4 in the
main unit as shown in the figure.

Reattach the board clamp, followed by the top
panel.

1. Format conversion
Format conversion differs between the 1080/59.94i system and
the 1080/50i system.

2. Screen size settings
The size of the output image screen can be set on the main
unit's menu screen.
Users can select any of five settings for down-conversion: FIT_V,
FIT_H, FIT_HV, 14:9 or 13:9.
Users can select any of three settings for up-conversion: FIT_V,
FIT_H or FIT_HV.
3. Frequency characteristics settings
The frequency characteristics in the horizontal and vertical direc-
tions of the output signals can be set on the main unit's menu
screen. Users can select one of two settings, namely, STD or
NARROW for up-conversion and WIDE or STD for down-conver-
sion.
4. Contour enhancement function
Contour enhancement can be provided for the edge areas in the
horizontal and vertical directions of the output signals.
