Manual: TARM Beamtable
face of your Digital-Analogue-Converter (that came with your software product, like Phoenix
or Pangolin) via ILDA cable.
To activate ILDA output it is necessary to activate the laser output first. This is done over DMX
channel 25: If this channel is set to 100% or 255, the scanner output is activated. Please also
see the information chart on the next page.
b. Overheat protection
If the operating temperature of the Beamtable exceeds a certain level, several automatic pro-
tection measures take place:
1. The fan speed is increased to maximum
2. The laser source is switched off automatically when the maximum allowed temperature is
exceeded (operation temperature between 10°C and 35°C)
c. Scan Safety
The Tarm Beamtable is equipped with special scan safety measures, that continuously analyze
the beam and shut off the lasers if the beams get focussed on a point or the movement of the
scanners gets too slow. This is for safety reasons and should not influence normal operation
in any way.
d. Interlock
A safety shut off button can be attached to the interlock interface (please see chart on previ-
ous page for details). Pins 7 and 8 of the 9-pin plug are connected. As alternative the interlock
brigde adapter, which is included in delivery, can be used to bridge this function.
e. DMX in
The optical bench effects are contorlled over DMX512 (DMX IN, 5-pole DMX plug)
