Fibre Assembly

Assemble in the order shown in figure 3. It is important not to
overtighten the screw cap.

The M30 optical proximity switch is supplied with a lens cover for
diffuse scan (without fibres fitted). In order to use this switch with any
of the fibre sets this cover must be removed. Undo the two screws on
the face of the unit and discard the cover. The fibre set is supplied with
a cap nut and adaptor for the M18 switch, these are not used with the
M30 switch. Assemble the fibre and switch as shown in figure 4 below
using the cap nut adaptor supplied with the switch.

Do not stretch the fibres

Do not twist the fibres at all

Do not exceed the max temperature.
+ 80°C for polymer covered fibres.
+120°C for metal covered fibres.
+250°C for the high temp. fibre.
4.
Do not bend the fibres sharper than 3 times their outside diameter,
or 6 times if the fibres are to flex in use.
5.
Do not overtighten any of the nuts on the switch bodies.
