Additional warnings
When liquids are sprayed, they may form electrically charged mists regardless of their
conductivity. In potentially explosive areas, the general explosion protection measures must
be applied. In addition to the instructions in the operating manual, the following additional
safety instructions must be observed in ATEX zones 1, 2, 21 and 22:

Earthing measures must be taken at the place of installation, and must be verified before any
commissioning and at regular intervals.
WARNING!
Hose reel Series 889 Ex must not be used in ATEX zones 0, 20. In addition, it must not be used
in areas in which there is an identified risk of electromagnetic waves, ionising radiation or
ultrasound (see EN 1127-1, sections 5.3.9 to 5.3.12).

This device may only be operated with the individually identified media (air or water). Only
verified and approved hoses must be used, see section 8 and 10.

Explanation of DIN EN 1127-1 zones 1 and 2
Zone 1
A place in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture with air of flammable
substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist is likely to occur in normal operation
occasionally.
Zone 2
A place in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture with air of flammable
substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist is not likely to occur in normal operation but, if it
does occur, will persist for a short period only.
