The following functions for the cassette mode can only be operated with the buttons located on the appliance.
Playback of a cassette
• Switch fUnCTIOn (5) to nOr TaPE. The display (6) shows

• Insert a cassette with the band facing upwards. Close the cassette deck (18, 32).
• Press (23, 30) to start playback.

note: If the band of an inserted cassette has reached its end, the playback automatically stops.
Continuous playback
Automatic playback of a cassette in DECK a (32) once playback of a cassette in DECK b (18) has ended.
• Insert a cassette into both DECK a (32) and b (18).
• Press (23) on DECK b (18) to start playback.
• Press (26) on DECK a (32) and then (30).
• The cassette in DECK a (32) will begin to play automatically when the playback of the cassette in DECK b (18) has ended.

This appliance is able to record from an audio CD, MP3 CD, radio, or microphone onto cassettes.
• Insert an blank cassette into DECK a (32).

general information on recording
• Recording is permissable in so far as copyright or other rights of third parties are not infringed.
• This deck is not suitable for recording on CHROME (IEC II) or METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording,
use NORMAL (IEC I) type cassettes on which the tabs have not been broken. It is not recommended
to use cassettes with 20 minutes playtime. The best recording level is set automatically. Altering the
VOLUME will not affect the recording in progress.
• At the very beginning and end of the tape, no recording will take place during the 7 seconds, when the leader tape passes the recorder heads.
• To protect a tape from accidental erasure, have the tape in front of you and break out the left tab. Recording on this side is no longer possible.
To record over this side again, cover the tab hole with a piece of adhesive tape.
