k. Internal Wiring and Grounding of the Transformer
This isolation transformer allows the isolation of the secondary side of the transformer (output) from the primary side
(input) under the following conditions:
1. If the electrical load on the secondary side is connected to live and neutral of the screw terminal (but not
connected to the ground of primary side of transformer), or
2. if the electrical load on the secondary side is connected to the socket via a cable without a connection to the
ground connection of the socket (e.g. a Type C or a CEE 7/17 plug).
3. If the electrical load on the secondary side is connected via a conventional plug with a ground connection (e.g. a
Type F or Type G plug) a complete isolation of the secondary side might not be established. For some
applications, this con guration is an advantage, but for other applications, it may pose a security risk. For more
details see (2.).
At the EU socket, the ground connection can be removed easily by unscrewing the connector cover. For more
details see (g.) in this section.
