4.2.A - How to lower the log collection plate
In order to lower the log collection plate, extract the plate fi xing pin (1 in fi g.6b, page 3) and guide the plate until it's in horizontal position. Put the
pin into its hole on the plate (fi g.6c), in order to avoid to lose it.
WARNING
NEVER SET THE MACHINE IN ACTION WITH THE LOG COLLECTION PLATE IN TRANSPORT POSITION (VERTICAL / CLOSE)
WHILE THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DEMAGES TO THE MACHINE
4.2.B - How to lift the log support plate
In order to lift the log support plate (11 in fi g.1, page 2), follow the instructions in fi g.7, page 3.
4.2.C - Regulation of the wedge height
In order to regulate the height of the wedge, operate the appropriate control lever (2 in fi g.1, page 2) by activating it to the left to lift the wedge
(fi g.7d, page 4) and to the right in order to lower the wedge (fi g.7a). The lever can be positioned in 5 different holes that correspond to 5 different
heights of the wedge, in order to obtain a 4-ways wedge (fi g.7e) that allows to split a trunk into four logs with a single stroke. Choose the suitable
height for the trunk you are splitting, then move the lever and lock it into the appropriate hole
4.3 - Lighting
Lighting must be provided in the entire work area of the log splitter to ensure perfect visibility when operating the machine and during maintenance
and adjustments. Even when working outdoors, there must be suffi cient light to work safely. Working at times when insuffi cient light may result in poor
visibility of the machine and its components (dawn, dusk, night) is forbidden.
5 - USE
WARNING:
DO NOT USE THE MACHINE OUTDOOR WHEN IT IS RAINING OR SNOWING.
WHEN NOT IN USE, STORE THE MACHINE WHERE IT IS PROTECTED FROM ATMOSPHERIC AGENTS.
5.1.A - Switching on/off of the machine with electric motor (STS T10 E - STS T10 T)
Make sure that the switch/cutout of the general power system and the switch of the machine are OFF.
Connect the electric log splitter to the power system inserting the plug in the socket on the electric motor.
Never pass the power cable over the telescopic mast, close to the wedge or anywhere where it may be damaged or cut.
Set the main on/off switch and then press the switch in the green area to start the log splitter.
The telescopic mast will move automatically to the fully open position.
Use the log splitter as explained in paragraph 5.2.
Never leave the log splitter unattended without fi rst of all pressing the switch in the red area (off).
On completing the work, switch off the log splitter by turning the switch/differential of the general power system to the "0" position (off) and then
remove the plug from the socket on the machine. Never yank the plug using the cable. Grasp the body of the plug and pull it fi rmly.
5.1.B - Switching on/off of the machine driven by cardan shaft (STS T10 GC)
Connect the log splitter to the power source (see chapter 4 "OPERATING THE MACHINE") and then check that the machine is fi rmly positioned
on the ground.
Start the tractor making sure it does not move. Start the log splitter by activating the power system (cardan shaft). The wedge will lift.
Use the log splitter as explained in paragraph 5.2.
If you leave the log splitter unattended, switch off the transmission system of the tractor.
After using the log splitter, switch off the transmission system, switch off the tractor. Before moving the tractor, lift the log splitter to a suffi cient
height so that it does not hit the ground.
WARNING
NEVER MOVE THE TRACTOR WITH THE POWER SOURCE OF THE LOG SPLITTER ACTIVATED OR WITH THE LOG SPLITTER
STILL ON THE GROUND.
