the device will be in manual mode, i.e. it will
continue to emit the mist until you stop it or
while there is water in the reservoir. Conversely,
if you press this button, the device will go into
AUTO mode and will only stop when it has reached
the programmed level of relative humidity. To exit
from this AUTO mode, you must go through the
maximum programmable level of 90%.
•
"Timer" for adjusting the length of vapour emis-
sion (item 5, Figure 2). To exit this mode, you will
need to go through the maximum programmable
period of 12 hours.
Important notes
•
Only use clean, fresh, distilled or demineralised
water to avoid any malfunction.
•
Do not pour water into the diffuser sprinkler tip to
prevent malfunction and fire risk (Item 1, Figure 1).
•
Make sure the reservoir lid is tightly closed after filling
so as to avoid leakage or potential electric shocks.
•
The reservoir must be kept clean. If the sprinkler
tip emitting cold mist is dirty, clean it with a
brush or damp cloth.
Even though there is a safety device that stops
the transducer working, do not leave the
device connected when you are not using it.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
If the water contains too much calcium and too much
magnesium, it may deposit a "white powder" in the
device. If this foam is deposited on the transducer
(white ceramic ring emitting ultrasounds (item i,
Figure 3)), this will prevent the New Vapolux humid-
ifier from working properly.
Care
We recommend:
1
Using clean, fresh, distilled or demin-
eralised water each time it is used.
2
Cleaning the reservoir every 2 days and
cleaning the transducer every week.
3
Cleaning the device (see explanations
below) and making sure that all its parts
are completely dry when it is not in use.
To clean the transducer (white
ceramic ring (item i, Figure 3))
1
Put 2 to 5 drops of vinegar on its surface
and leave them there for 2 to 5 minutes.

2
Brush the foam off the surface with
a soft brush. Do not use a hard
tool to scrape the surface.
3
Rinse the reservoir of the base in clean water.
4
Do not use soap, solvent or spray
cleaner to clean the transducer.
To clean the water basin
1
Clean the basin with water using a soft
cloth and vinegar if there is foam or
limescale deposits on the inside.
2
Rinse the basin in clean water.
To clean the cool mist emission
nozzle of the device
1
Clean this with a brush or damp cloth.
2
Rinse the nozzle in clean water.
Storage
Having cleaned and dried the device, store it in a dry,
cool place out of the reach of children.
