Basic instrument

The supplementary rails 17 enable the measuring
range of the instrument to cover smaller sizes than
is otherwise possible: 35 – 280 mm interior, 15 –
255 mm exterior.
Assemble as follows, referring to Fig. 6:

As the INOTEST is a comparative measuring in-
strument, it must first be set for the size in question
with the aid of a master gauge. The instrument only
indicates the deviation for set size.
Master gauges should be made of a material having
approximately the same coefficient of expansion as
the workpiece material.
Right
– Fix the pair of base rails 17 to the measuring
head 1 and lock with fixing screws 18 (Fig. 7).
– Fit the adjustable fixed anvil 19. Clamp one of the
measuring arms 4 into position on the mobile
anvil 3.
– Insert the dial gauge as described in para. 2.1.

It is important to calibrate the instrument in the
same position as it will occupy when measuring the
workpiece.
