How to install the ARGUS
¼
Risk of electrocution.
The ARGUS may only be installed and connected by skilled
electricians. Please observe the relevant regulations in your own
country.
1 Wire up the control device for the application desired, e.g.:
– Figure %: ARGUS Presence system (550499) with lighting (channel
1) and ventilation (channel 2)
– Figure &: ARGUS Presence system (550499) with lighting (channel
1) and ventilation (channel 2) for extension unit operation with
extension inserts and push-buttons (make contacts)
– Figure/ ARGUS Presence system (550499) with additional sensor
(550419) for extension unit operation with extension inserts and
push-buttons (make contacts)
2 Install control unit in suspended ceiling (hole spacing 151 mm, Figure
)).
3 Turn the three adjusters (Figure ( A – C) to "Test" (Explanation in
the following section "Carrying out a functional test").
4 Fit the interconnecting cable to the sensor head (Figure =).
5 Squeeze the sensor head retaining clips together (Figure ?A) and
push in the ceiling cut-out.
The retaining clips clamp the sensor head firmly into the ceiling
(Figure ?B).
Now you can switch on the mains voltage and put the ARGUS Presence
system into operation.

This is how to put the ARGUS Presence system into operation
This is how to put the ARGUS Presence system into
operation
Behaviour when applying the mains voltage
After switching the mains supply on, the system carries out a functional
test for one minute and during this time, it switches channel 1 on.
Afterwards it is ready for operation.
Conducting a functional test
The adjusters on the rear side of the sensor head (Figure ():
1 Set all three adjusters to "Test".
– The switching duration of channels 1 and 2 is now 1 s
– The dependency on brightness is disabled
2 Do some walking tests to check the correct functioning of the
system and the connected loads.
3 Set adjuster C "LUX" to the desired brightness threshold.
4 Set adjuster B"Channel 1" to a switching duration of 10 s, for
example.
Note:
|
The dependency on brightness for channel 1 is disabled:
– if the adjuster C"LUX" is set to "Test" (regardless of the time that is
set for channel 1) or
– if the adjuster B "Channel 1" is set to "Test".
5 Repeat the walking tests to check whether the lighting switches on
with the brightness threshold set.
When everything is working as it should:
6 Set the switching duration at the adjusters A and B.
