4.6. Handling batteries
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Batteries may contain combustible materials. If handled
improperly, batteries may leak, heat up excessively, ig-
nite or even explode, which could result in damage to
the device and your health.
Please note the following:
• Keep batteries away from children. They can be fatal if swal-
lowed. If a battery is swallowed, please obtain immediate
medical assistance.
• Do not throw batteries into a fire; do not short-circuit them
and do not dismantle them.
• If necessary, clean the battery and device contacts before in-
sertion.
• Always change all batteries at the same time.
• Attention! There is a risk of explosion if batteries are replaced
incorrectly. Only use batteries of the same type. Do not use
different types of batteries; do not use a mix of used and new
batteries.
• Please pay attention to the polarity (+/–) when inserting the
batteries.
• Remove the batteries if the device is not going be used for
long periods.
• Remove spent batteries immediately from the device! There is
an increased risk of leakage!
• Do not expose batteries to extreme conditions or direct sun-
light; do not place the device in close proximity to radiators!

• Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries! There is a
risk of explosion!
• Rechargeable batteries may only be charged under the super-
vision of an adult.
