2 Safety Notes
The MP3 / CD player module corresponds to all
required directives of the EU and is therefore marked
with
.
G
The module is suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect it against dripping water and splash water,
high air humid ity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the module and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the module is
used for other pur pos es than originally intended,
if it is not correctly operat ed or not installed or
repaired in an expert way.
If the module is to be put out of operation
defin itively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which will not be harmful to
the environment.
3 Applications
The MP3 / CD player module M-34CDP is provided
for installation into a basic unit (e. g. active system,
amplifier) and offers extensive functions, e. g. con-
tinuous repeat, random replay, MP3 replay of USB
storage media and SD / MMC memory cards (32 GB
max.).
It is able to play audio CDs, audio CDs you
have burnt yourself (audio CD-R), and CDs with
* lettering on the remote control

titles in MP3 format. However, problems may occur
when replaying rewriteable CDs (CD-RW), de -
pending on the type of CD, the CD burner used,
and the burning programme.
4 Deactivating the Automatic Start
Function
The MP3/CD player is equipped with an automatic
start function. After switching on the player and
reading in a sound carrier (CD, USB flash drive or
SD card) the replay of the first title will start auto-
matically. If you do not wish the player to start auto-
matically [replay will not start before the button
or PLAY/ PAUSE* (3) is pressed], deactivate the
automatic start function.
G
CAUTION: To deactivate the automatic start
function, the MP3 / CD player must be opened.
Always make sure that this is done by skilled per-
sonnel.
On the main PCB there is the jumper CN21 (see
arrow in fig. 3). To deactivate the automatic start
function, remove the jumper. Please keep the
jumper; you may need it again later.

Installation and Connection
G
The MP3 / CD player module must only be
installed by qual ified personnel!
G
The module must be installed into the basic unit
in a horizontal way.
1) Prior to the installation of the module, always
disconnect the basic unit from the 230 V mains.
2) To accommodate the module, make a cutout of
155 mm × 50 mm on the basic unit.
3) Slide the module through the cutout on the basic
unit and fix it via its front panel with four screws
4) Make the electrical connection to the basic unit:
