Mains Lead
Completely unwind the length of mains lead that you require
from the bottom section of the base. Please ensure that the
mains lead does not become tangled up.
Electrical connection
Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is
the same as that of the machine. Details are to be found on the
label on the base.
Connected Wattage
The total power consumption of this device can be up to 2200 W.
With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a
16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: OVERLOAD!
•
If you use extension leads, these should have a cable
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
•
Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too
powerful.
Switching on/off
Switch on:
Push the toggle switch down. The power
indicator comes on.
Switch off:
Push the toggle switch up. The power indicator
goes out.
Use
NOTE:
Always use fresh water.
1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Press the button in the handle to open the kettle. Then fill in
the water. Please only fill up to the maximum (MAX) mark.
You can read the filling level on the water level indicator of
the kettle.
3. Close the lid until you hear it lock in place.
4. Place the kettle flush on the base.
5. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V,
50 Hz safety socket.
6. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. To control lamp
lights up.
7. After boiling has finished the kettle switches off automati-
cally. The switch-off time varies according to the volume of
water and may take up to 20 seconds. Or you can push the
switch upwards to interrupt or stop the boiling process.
WARNING: DANGER OF SCALDING!
•
When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
•
During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch
it and allow the device to cool down before storing it
away.
Switching off
•
If you would like to turn the kettle off, push the switch
upwards and remove the plug from the socket.
•
The control lamp goes off.
•
Emptying the water container.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
Cleaning
WARNING:
•
Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove
the mains plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
•
Never immerse the device or the base in water or other
liquids.
CAUTION:
•
Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
•
Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
•
Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it
off with a cloth.
•
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
Filter
There is a permanent filter in the spout. To clean the filter,
remove it from the frame.
•
Pull the right-hand tab inside the kettle.
•
Remove the filter.
•
Rinse out the filter with running water. You can use a nylon
brush.
•
Put the filter back in position: insert first of all the axle into
the left-hand guide groove of the frame. Then press the
filter into the frame. It must be heard to click into place.
Decalcification
•
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on
the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance
is used.
•
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it prob-
ably needs to be decalcified.
•
Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use
the quantities stated in the instructions.
NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times
(approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues.
Do not consume this water.
