Care and maintenance
1. At least three hours before cleaning, turn
the temperature controller (7) to "7".
This way, the frozen food gets a cold re-
serve and does not thaw so fast.
2. Set the temperature controller (7) to "0".
3. Disconnect the mains plug from the
socket or switch off the fuse.
4. Remove food from the fridge and frozen
food from the freezer compartment.
5. Ensure that your food is kept cool
enough.
6. Remove the wire rack (1) from the freezer
compartment. Wash it in warm water with
washing up liquid and dry thoroughly.
7. Place a bowl of hot, but not boiling, wa-
ter in the freezer compartment. This will
accelerate the defrosting process.
8. Leave the door open while defrosting
and place a floor cloth in front of the ap-
pliance to catch thaw water which may
come out.
The defrosting time depends on the
thickness of the ice layer. Experience
dictates that it is possible to start clean-
ing after approx. 1 hour.
9. Wipe down the inside with warm water
and washing-up liquid.
When wiping clean, add a few drops of
vinegar to the water to prevent mould
from forming.
10. Only clean the door seals with clean wa-
ter; they are sensitive to oil and fat.
11. Rub everything completely dry, including
the door seals, and allow to air briefly.
12. Re-insert wire rack and put food back in
the freezer compartment.
13. Connect the mains plug to the socket or
switch on the fuse again.
14. Turn the temperature controller to level
"7".
15. As soon as a temperature of -18°C has
been reached, turn the temperature con-
troller back to the usual position.
