Sending Data According to the Original Type
There are settings appropriate for various types of
original, such as text-only originals and originals that
include photos.
Original Type

By setting the original type, the quality of the image is
adjusted to one appropriate for the original.
Density

You can manually adjust the density to the most
appropriate level for the original. The density of
the background can also be adjusted, so if you are
concerned about bleedthrough, you can lighten the
density of only the background.
Resolution

By setting the resolution to be high, the data size
increases but the quality of the copy increases as
well, enabling you to send data closer to that of the
original.
Sending Data to a Server
If you create a shared folder on a network, you can
manage scanned data on a server.
* To use a file server, settings are required on both the server side and the
machine (client side).

File Format
Scanned images can be sent/stored in one of the
following file formats. You can select the optimal file
type for how you want to use the data.
JPEG

JPEG is a high quality image file format used in Web
sites, etc. The Grayscale or Full Color mode is selected
for the color mode.
TIFF

TIFF is a standard image file format that supports
various resolutions and formats. The Black & White
mode is selected for the color mode.
PDF

PDF is a data format compressed using Adobe
Acrobat. You can use the detailed settings to include
various elements.
XPS

XPS is a page description language developed by
Microsoft.
OOXML (Office Open XML)

OOXML is a document format for Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc. The Grayscale or Full Color mode is
selected for the color mode.
