Before use
Clean all parts of the slicer before using the first time as described below
under "cleaning" on page 7. The smell of "hot metal" might be noticed when
using the slicer for the first few times. It is caused by the biological lubricant
and will disappear in a while.
Assembling the slicer
Make sure the appliance sits steadily on a solid, level surface. The four suction
feet provide a steady hold. The feeding carriage (2) is almost installed on the
slicer and can be moved easily forward and backward. To clean the feeding
carriage tilt it forwards.
Enclosed you will find a serrated blade and a blade with straight edge.
With the serrated blade cut crust food such as bread, ham etc.
The blade with straight edge is suitable for soft food such as cheese, cold
meat, fruits.
Place the food retainer (3) on the carriage. Plug the slicer into a wall socket.
The slicer is now ready for use.
Using
1. Place a plate or a dish behind the blade to collect the slices.
2. Select the slicing thickness by turning the adjusting knob (5).
3. Pull the carriage (2) back from the blade and place the food you intend to
slice on it.
4. Lightly push the food with the food retainer (3) against the adjusting plate
(4). If necessary, correct the slicing thickness with the adjusting knob (5).
5. Set the switch (6) to "I" position.
6. The blade starts and the pilot light on the switch turns on.
7. Push the carriage (2) forward to bring the food into the blade (1).
8. If the blade slows down while slicing, move back a little bit and start
forward again with less pressure.
9. After 10 minutes of operation let the slicer cool down for 15 minutes.
10. To avoid food sticking on the blade moisten the blade with a little water or
edible oil.
