Installation notes
1. General information:
• All instruments which are installed in the open have to be assembled with a shed (see WTW
accessories).
• For normal operation in the open the housing cover has to be closed (IP66 ).
• All inputs/outputs do not need an additional lightning protection, all lightning protection devices
are integrated in the instrument, existing lightning protection devices can be used additionally.
• The armoured thread joints have been designed for cable diameters of 10 - 14 mm;
(see also chapter "View with removed measuring module").
• The connection box cables should not be fastened too tight. If the clamps are fastened too tight
the cable may be cut off!
• Cable ducts (armoured threads) which are not used have to be closed with a stopper in order to
fulfill the IP 66 standard.
• The connection box KI 171 (for 2 channel models = 2 electrode inputs) is to be used for pH 171
and also for Oxi 171. The correct configuration has to be ensured through a jumper and the
correct connection of the socket (for that open the connection box and configure according to
board printing; see chapter "Connection channel B").
2. Mains connection
The instruments are designed for 230 V AC or 115 V AC. The mains voltage can be switched over
with a switch on the power supply board. Before putting the instrument into operation always
check whether there is the correct mains voltage or whether the correct voltage has been set (see
also chapter "View with removed measuring module").
If multi-wire cables are lead into the housing to be connected to a
terminal strip, the following must be observed:
Unused wires must not jut into the housing. Otherwise, malfunctions
can occur. This especially applies to the ground wire of the mains
cable.
Cut off unused wires in the housing as close to the armored thread
joint as possible.
Installation must only be made by qualified technicians, as the mains
voltage is highly dangerous!
A separation possibility between instrument and mains has to be
provided (e.g. fuse)!
