If the scales detect a fault, the display shows the following:

Lo
No display

Cause
The weight range of 5,000 g has
been exceeded
The batteries have almost run
out
You have switched on the scales
surface
An item has been placed on the
scales before they were switched
on
The batteries have completely
run out
The batteries have not been in-
serted correctly
Remedy
Remove the item from the weig-
hing surface
Change the batteries
and press the /TARE button
again.
Press the /TARE button
Change the batteries
Check that the battery terminals
are the right way round
