Troubleshooting

Fault
- Engine will not start
- No drive when wheel drive is
actuated
- Excessive vibration during
operation

Possible cause
- Motorstop lever is not pressed
- No fuel in tank; fuel line blocked
- Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
- Dirty air filter
- Spark plug socket disconnected
from spark plug; ignition lead
incorrectly fastened to socket
- Spark plug dirty or
damaged;
incorrect electrode gap
- Mower housing is blocked
- Drive cable incorrectly
adjusted
- Cable defective
- Gearbox defective
- Blade fastening screws are
loose
- Engine mounting is loose
- Blade imbalance due to
incorrect re-sharpening or
fracture
Remedy
- Press motorstop lever to
handlebar
- Top up fuel, clean fuel line
- Always use fresh,
good quality fuel, normal
unleaded petrol; clean
carburettor
- Clean air filter
- Connect spark plug socket;
check connection between
ignition lead and socket
- Clean or
replace spark plug; adjust
electrode gap
- Clean mower housing
(disconnect spark plug socket
before cleaning)
- Readjust drive cable
- Replace cable
- Check/replace gearbox
- Tighten blade fastening screws
- Tighten engine mounting bolts.
- Re-sharpen (balance) or replace
blade
