Overview
The HMX 1050 user station provides hardware-based
digital desktop extension for digital/analog video,
keyboard, mouse, USB media and audio signals.
The HMX system consists of a computer node and
user node interconnected in a point-to-point manner
at Gigabit Ethernet rates over a single UTP cable or
across an IP network.
Initial set up
Place the HMX 1050 user station (receiver) in the
desired location, and place the HMIQDI (transmitter)
with the remote PC.
Connecting power to the user station
Locate the power supply and AC line cord. Plug the
DC connector of the power supply into the matching
socket on the rear of the user station. Attach the AC
line cord to the power supply, then plug the line cord
into an appropriate power mains.
Preparing the remote PC
Set the screen resolution and refresh rates of the
remote PC according to the table on the reverse
page of this installation guide. Next, turn off the PC
and attach the HMIQDI.
Connecting the HMIQDI
Attach the HMIQDI to the video, audio, microphone
and both USB ports on the PC. An optional PSU
may be used to power the transmitter in lieu of two
USB connections. Turn on the PC.

Remote PC
Establishing LAN connections
The connection between the user station and the
HMIQDI may be established using straight-through or
crossover UTP cables, or industry-standard Ethernet
hubs or switches. Connections across subnets, although
supported, are not recommended.
Connecting the peripherals
Attach the monitor, keyboard, mouse and audio cables to
the receiver. Turn on your user station. A removable drive
can be hot plugged into the USB ports on the user station
at any time.

HMIQDI settings
The HMIQDI is pre-confi gured for digital video. Analog
video extension must be selected via the HIMQDI's serial
menu interface, as described on the reverse page of this
guide. Within the Console Settings sub-menu, select VGA.
