Operating Systems Supported
Drivers for the CP 1512 are available for the following operating systems from
Microsoft:
• Windows XP
– Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1
• Windows 2000
– Windows 2000 Professional Multilanguage with Service Pack 1, 2 and 3
– Windows 2000 Server Multilanguage with Service Pack 1, 2 and 3
• Windows NT
– Windows NT Workstation, Version 4.0 with Service Pack 6a
– Windows NT Server, Version 4.0 with Service Pack 6a
• Windows Me
• Windows 98 / Windows 98 Second Edition
For information about the approvals of further service packs, contact your Siemens
representative.
The subsections of this chapter contain the installation instructions for the various
operating systems.
Note
Depending on the operating system, the computer will be restarted during the
installation.
This is a normal part of the installation!
Following a restart on your computer, the installation will continue automatically
with the next step. You only need to follow the installation instructions in this
description. No further measures are necessary.
Screen Savers
If you use a screen saver, remember that processing the saver costs CPU time and
this can lead to the system being overloaded.
Some screen savers are known not to release memory resources again. This
means that usable main memory is continually reduced.
