Inserting a blade

Safety instructions: Always unplug the HotKnife 250 at the mains before
fitting or removing a blade. After using the device, allow sufficient time for
the blade and blade holder to cool down to avoid burns when fitting the bla-
de.
Warning: HotKnife 250 blades have a sharp edge for clean cuts. The cut
direction must always be in the direction of the sharp edge of the blade.
Straight blade:
1. Loosen the screws on the blade holder with the Allen key
provided.
2. Push the blade under the pressure plate to the stop.
3. Carefully tighten the screws to ensure an optimum elec-
trical connection. Do not overtighten the screws!
4. Once the blade is tight, plug the device into the 230 V
power supply using the power plug.
5. The temperature controller has 16 latching positions.
The smaller the setting, the lower the blade temperature.
Warning:
blade holder causing a failure of the device. Only use as much power as
needed to perform the cut. The blade does not need to be red hot to cut
through Polystyrene.
Commissioning
Warning:
place the blade on the edge of the material you will be cutting. Press the
lever and move the blade through the material. Optimum cutting should
be virtually smoke free.
Note: For best possible results perform a couple of trial cuts in remnants of the material
you will be cutting.
