Battery Installation - See Figure 1
3 AAA
• Alkaline (LR03)
• Lithium (L92)
• Rechargeable NiCad or NiMH
Princeton Tec cares about the environment and recom-
mends recycling batteries. For more information about bat-
tery recycling, please go
to www.batteryrecycling.com.
Observe proper battery polarity. Improper installation of the
batteries will damage the light and void the warranty.
!
WARNING
• Never mix fresh and used batteries.
• Never mix different battery brands or chemistry types
• Always remove drained batteries immediately.
• Remove batteries during long periods of storage.
NOTE: Lithium batteries offer extended constant brightness
time, extreme cold weather performance, and lighter
weight. Rechargeable NiCad or NiMH batteries may result in
reduced brightness due to lower nominal voltage.
The Vizz battery compartment has a waterproof seal. It is
important to keep this seal free from dirt and away from
harsh chemicals in order to preserve waterproof integrity.
Inspect the seal every time batteries are changed. If dirt
is present, wipe gently with a damp cotton swab and mild
soap until dirt is removed.
Switch Operation - See Figure 2
From off:
One press: red LED.
Double press: green LED.
Triple press: blue LED.
Note: color mode is user configurable. See "Configuring
Color Mode" below.
Two second press: IR
Five second hold: lock or unlock the headlamp
From any visible color mode (red, green, blue) a two second
hold turns on the white Maxbright LED at high output.
From this state, releasing then holding the button initiates
dimming of the white mode.
From any mode, a single press of the button turns the
headlamp off.
Removal and replacement of batteries will also reset Vizz to
unlocked state.
Configuring Color Mode
Eight second hold: enter/leave programming mode
Note: The selected initial color mode flashes during
programming. Default order: red > green > blue. Each button
press advances to the next mode. Leaving the programming
mode via eight second press sets active mode to turn on
with one button press.
Troubleshooting
If the Vizz fails to light:
• Check the batteries for proper installation.
• Replace batteries if proper installation is confirmed.
• Check circuit board for water (the seal may have be com-
promised by improper rear cover installation or dirty seal).
The light will resume normal operation once the water is
shaken or blown out and the light is left open until com-
pletely dry. If the light has been contaminated with salt
water, flush the unit with fresh water and dry as described
above.
