8. Installation
8.1 Fan installation
DANGER
Danger from incorrect installation
location or incorrect attachment.
1. Only fit in places with suffi-cient load-
bearing capacity.
2. Sufficiently dimensioned mounting
material is to be supplied by the customer.
Observe the installation position.
CAUTION
Risk of cuts from metal housing
plates with sharp edges.
Wear protective gloves.
If using an extension sleeve VH,
install the fan with mounted
extension sleeve.
1. Transport unit to installation location and
set down using suitable means of trans-
port or lifting gear, chapter 6.1.
2. Mark and drill 4 mounting holes and insert
dowels.
3. Fix square wall plate [7] or steel wall ring
[8] to wall, ceiling or bracket with 4 screws.
DANGER
Danger to life from electric shock.
After mounting/removing the protective
grille, check it for firm seating and perform
a PE conductor test.
8.2 Electrical connection
NOTICE
Risk of damage to unit in the event of
short-circuits.
Insulate any unnecessary cable cores.

Information
● Always note the relevant specifications for
electrical installations and when fitting
equipment. In Germany, observe DIN
VDE 0100 and the corresponding parts
in particular.
● Use motor protection switch or thermal
contact. Do not exceed usage tempera-
tures.
● DZQ.. B/DZS.. B: The thermal contacts
are terminal connections and must be
connected to an external control device
with an automatic, self-holding switch-off
function. For example, a Maico motor
protection switch MV 25 or a contactor
control with self-holding function.
● EZQ/DZQ/EZS/DZS units are not
approved for operation with a frequency
converter as standard. Units for frequency
converters are only available as special
versions.
Connection
1. Switch off mains fuse and prevent from
being started up again. Attach warning sign.
2. Remove the connection area cover [2].
NOTICE
Danger of short-circuits and damage
to the unit. Water may penetrate the
connection area if the power cable is
introduced incorrectly or if the cable
grommet [12] is not fitted correctly.
Pierce the cable grommet [12] so that it
can tightly seal the power cable.
3. Pierce a round opening in the cable
grommet [12] with a nozzle pin.
