Installation
When selecting the installation site for the appliance, make sure
that it will not be exposed to direct, intensive sunlight, vibrations,
dust, heat, cold and dampness. There may not be any strong
transformers or motors in proximity to the appliance.
Make sure that the power cable is not squashed or damaged by
sharp edges.
Only operate the appliance horizontally; otherwise, it may not
function properly.
Place the appliance on a level surface.
Due to the large variety of furniture lacquers and polishes, it cannot be ruled out
that the feet of the appliance leaves behind visible residues on the furniture due
to chemical reactions. Therefore, do not place the appliance on valuable furni-
ture without suitable protection.

Inserting the Batteries

Batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
Observe the right polarity when inserting the batteries.
Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a longer period
of time.
Leaking or damaged batteries may lead to injuries of the skin.
Therefore, use suitable protective gloves when changing them.
Make sure that you do not short-circuit the batteries. Do not
throw into fire. Do not recharge the batteries. Danger of explosion!
Turn the appliance off and disconnect it
from the power supply.
Open the cover on the bottom of the
appliance and insert 6 1.5 baby cells ©
with the proper polarity.

Turn the function switch FUNCTION (4)
to the OFF position. Pull the power plug
and remove the main cable from the
main connection AC IN ~ (1).
Battery operation is not possible
while the cable is connected.
The right polarity is indicated on the bot-
tom of the battery compartment.

Maintenance

Check the technical safety of the appliance at regular intervals, e.g. for damages on
the casing.
If safe operation can no longer be assured, put the appliance out of operation and
protect it from being used again accidentally! Pull the power plug and remove the
batteries!
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if
• the appliance shows visible damage,
• the product no longer functions
• after long storage under adverse conditions or
after heavy transport strain.
Make sure you observe the following safety notices prior to cleaning or servic-
ing the product:
When opening the covers or removing parts of the casing, you
may expose live parts.
Therefore, you have to disconnect the appliance from all voltage
sources and connections prior to performing maintenance or
repair work.
Condensers in the appliance may still be charged, even if the
appliance was disconnected from all voltage sources.
Repairs may only be conducted by experts who are familiar with
the associated risks respectively the pertinent regulations.
Disposal
Dispose of obsolete appliances according to the valid legal directives.
Disposal of spent batteries / accumulators
You are required by law to return all spent batteries. Disposing of spent batteries in
the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries / accumulators that contain hazardous substances
are marked with the symbols on the side. These symbols indi-
cate that it is prohibited to dispose of these batteries in the
household waste. The abbreviations for the respective heavy

metal are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can
return spent batteries respectively accumulator that can no
longer be charged free of charge to the collection points in your
community, our outlets or everywhere else where batteries or
accumulators are sold.
